Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa
The Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer Visa, commonly referred to as the Tier 2 ICT, is intended for UK employers wishing to transfer skilled workers from an overseas branch to the UK branch of the same or a connected Company.
The UK Company must have a Sponsor Licence and this must have been set up to enable sponsorship under the Tier 2 ICT category.
Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer Visa Sub-Categories
Within the Tier 2 Intra-Company transfer category are four sub-categories:
-
Long Term Staff:
For employees who have worked for the overseas Company for at least 12 months to come to the UK for an initial period of up to 3 years to fill a post that cannot be filled by a settled or EEA worker. -
Short Term Staff:
Essentially the same as for Long Term Staff but for a period of up to 12 months, after which the employee must leave the UK. -
Graduate Trainee:
Enables the transfer of recent graduate recruits to a UK branch of the organisation for training purposes. -
Skills Transfer:
Enables the transfer of new recruits to a UK branch of the organisation to acquire skills and knowledge that they will need overseas OR to impart their specialist skills or knowledge to the UK workforce.
If you are a UK branch or subsidiary of an international Company and you would like advice or assistance with obtaining a Tier 2 Sponsor Licence or adding the ICT Category to an existing Sponsor Licence then please contact us for assistance.
General Requirements
In order to qualify for a Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer visa you must meet the following minimum requirements:
-
Certificate of Sponsorship
Have a suitable offer of transfer from an employer holding a valid Sponsor Licence and be in possession of a valid Certificate of Sponsorship issued by the employer. -
English Language
Some sub-categories require that you can communicate effectively in English. You can meet this requirement by being a Citizen of certain English-speaking countries, holding a suitable degree-level qualification that was taught in English or holding a qualifying English Language test to the required standard. -
Maintenance
It is important that you can support yourself financially in the UK and you will therefore need to demonstrate this by showing that you have the required minimum amount of savings available to you at all times for the 3-month period prior to applying for your visa. This requirement can also be met by your employer sponsoring confirming that they will maintain and accommodate you on your Certificate of Sponsorship. Some applicants will not need to meet this requirement.
If your application is urgent and you will be applying in the UK then we can offer Same Day Visa Processing at the Croydon PEO or Priority Service applications processed within a week or so. Contact us for further information.
Bringing Your Family to the UK
You can bring your immediate family members, such as your husband, wife or partner and your dependant children, to the UK for the duration of your visa. If you are already in the UK then they can apply to join you here. This requires that the relationship can be evidenced and there are also further Maintenance requirements to ensure that you can afford to maintain yourself and your family when you come to the UK.
