HSMP - UK Highly Skilled Migrant Program


On 30 June 2008 HSMP was replaced throughout the world by the Tier 1 HSMP Visa (part of the UK Points Based System). The below information is provided purely for historical purposes.

HSMP (UK Highly Skilled Migrant Programme)

is an extremely popular points-based visa, allowing independent immigration to the UK for Highly Skilled Migrant Workers.

    The new Points Based System commenced on 29 February 2008 with the introduction of the Tier 1 General Highly Skilled Visa. This replaced HSMP throughout the world on 30 June 2008.

The pass mark is 75 points and you must have English Language ability to at least IELTS Level 6. HSMP applications not meeting these criteria cannot be progressed. The same applies to HSMP Extension applications.
